In a time when Christians are looking for new ways of making
worship more concrete and meaningful, much attention
has been given to the customs of the past. One of the traditions
some Christians have begun practicing is the Seder
meal, an important ceremony in the Jewish Passover celebration.
Many Christians, and Evangelical Protestants in
particular, have recently taken great interest in performing
Seders according to the ancient rubric. Many churches host
Seders, usually adding a Christian ( M essianic Passover )
message. Many Christians cite to the meal as a way to connect
with the heritage of their own religion and to see how
the practices of the ancient world are still relevant to Christianity
today.
A Seder meal refers to food that is eaten during Passover in
the Jewish tradition. There are special customs that are associated
with a Seder meal, such as eating matza.
